On October 8, Voices of Hope hosts the Night of Dreams Gala at The Beverly Hills Hotel. It is a formal affair in every sense — black tie, a seated dinner, entertainment and an auction in aid of the charity's work — and it draws the room you would expect from that address: philanthropists, studio and finance people, founders and their guests, the people who take a table rather than a seat.
Whether you are attending or simply in Los Angeles that week, it is the kind of night that rewards being properly planned.
Make an Evening of It
Arrive early. The Polo Lounge is the correct place for a first drink, and the Beverly Hills Hotel's pink stucco and banana-leaf corridors have a way of resetting the pace of a day. If you are staying elsewhere — the Peninsula, the Maybourne, the Beverly Wilshire — a car up Sunset takes minutes.
After the gala, the evening is far from over. Bar Marmont or the Tower Bar at the Sunset Tower for a nightcap with a view of the city; Delilah or Bird Streets Club if the night wants music; or simply a quiet suite, a bottle, and the lights of the hills.
